Defending Set Pieces
Discipline 7: Tactical Systems — Lesson 4 of 12
Lecturer: Imogen Vance
You don't lose set pieces to better players. You lose them to space nobody was assigned to. This session covers marking space before the ball arrives, assigning a designated near-post reader, and clearing first before organising.
The three rules
1. Mark the space first.
2. Assign a near-post reader.
3. Clear first, organise second.
